Napa Valley E-Bikes FAQ
What does Pedal Assist mean?
Pedal assist is a mode that provides power only when you are pedaling. The pedal assist mode is also nice because you can focus purely on your pedaling and you do not have to hold the throttle in a certain position. As factors such as elevation, terrain and your energy level change, you can quickly shift from 0-5 levels of assist.
What is the range of one of our fully charged ebikes?
25-60 miles depending on rider, terrain, wind conditions and riding style.
What happens if the battery is running low during a rental?
Two battery levels remaining – we recommend you being within a 10 mile radius of the shop.
One battery level remaining – we recommend you being within a 5 mile radius of the shop.
What does Throttle Mode mean?
When the throttle is engaged the motor provides power and propels you and the bike forward. A throttle allows you to pedal or just kick back and enjoy a “free” ride! up to 20 miles per hour. Providing a smooth and helpful “boost” from a standing position, our entire fleet is equipped with the throttle feature. Naturally, engaging the throttle without any pedaling assistance over long stretches can affect the range of the ebike.

An ebike is just like any other bike and is permitted on roads when a bike lane is not available. We ask you to please use a bike lane when available, follow all traffic laws, always wear your provided helmet, use caution and common sense, and have fun!
Can kids ride ebikes?
